Oak Bay Collector Car Festival
The annual Oak Bay Collector Car Festival returns to Oak Bay Village in late July, celebrating the late Ken Agate.
Collector car owners and enthusiasts of all makes and vintages are invited to bring their cars to Oak Bay Avenue to be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. Cars are placed in sections along five blocks of Oak Bay Avenue, Monterey to Mitchell Street plus a portion of Hampshire Rd.
This year marks the first festival being held in the absence of its founder, Ken Agate, who died in September. Agate started the Collector Car Festival in 1999, combining his love of cars and his passion for giving back to the community.
Many of the local restaurants and businesses will be open especially for the event. There will also be a BBQ put on by the St. Patrick’s Church, as well as a number of food trucks to choose from in the parking lot behind the municipal hall. Ribbons will be awarded in a variety of categories, and great live entertainment as well.
