Willows Beach Cleanup

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is pleased to support the Willows Beach Cleanup, in partnership with the Surfrider Foundation Vancouver Island, on August 14 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Since its inception, Surfrider Vancouver Island has been holding monthly beach cleanups at different locations around the South Island. In 2018 alone, their members and volunteers helped remove more than 7,000 pounds of garbage off of our local shorelines.

Beach cleanups are a fun and exciting way of getting volunteers and community members out to local beaches and participating in a meaningful activity. All the debris is sorted, recycled and disposed of properly.

Attendees will receive a complimentary guided tour of Willows Beach, learn about Vancouver Island from the locals and marine life experts, and receive protective gear as well as complimentary snacks and drinks.

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel also supports the Surfrider Foundation Vancouver Island through weekly Sunrise Yoga classes, where partial proceeds of every ticket sold are donated to Surfrider Foundation. The hotel is also certified by the Vancouver Island Green Business Collective.
