Madone Pelan promoted to General Manager of The Oak Bay Beach Hotel

Victoria, BC (February 21, 2020): The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is delighted to announce Madone Pelan’s promotion to General Manager, effective March 1, 2020. Madone takes the reins from Michelle Le Sage, who has stepped down after eight years of exceptional, award-winning management to explore an exciting new career opportunity.

Madone is an ideal candidate for General Manager, bringing to the role more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and five years as the Director of Sales and Marketing for The Oak Bay Beach Hotel. During her tenure, Madone has overseen the property’s multifaceted sales and marketing efforts, which have contributed to The Oak Bay Beach Hotel earning a place among the top-performing hotels in Canada. Thanks in large part to Madone’s keen insights and forward-thinking strategy, the property is beloved by locals and visitors alike, who flock to its luxurious accommodations, exquisite restaurants and ocean-wrapped Boathouse Spa.

Madone takes over from Michelle Le Sage, a legend in the hospitality industry, whose commitment to mentoring team members and retaining the region’s top hospitality professionals has led to her recognition as BC Hotelier of the year. Michelle is embarking on a new career adventure with a role outside of hotel management and has received overwhelming support from her team.

“I am so proud of Madone for earning this promotion – I have complete confidence in her to lead The Oak Bay Beach Hotel team and expand on the hotel’s reputation as a preferred hotel for visitors around the world,” said Michelle Le Sage. “Madone’s proven leadership and expertise in hospitality and marketing are integral assets to the General Manager role. I look forward to following her successes well into the future.”

“I am honoured to accept this position, and particularly grateful for Michelle’s mentorship and support over the years, allowing me to learn from the best.” said Madone Pelan. “The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is a truly special place, and the team here have become my second family. I look forward to working with them, the entire hospitality industry, and our guests, in this new capacity, while continuing to build on Michelle’s legacy of having led The Oak Bay Beach Hotel into a world-class, must-visit property.”
