Served Sundays from 11am to 3pm, Afternoon Tea by the Sea follows a “West Coast First” philosophy, putting local ingredients front and centre — smoked BC salmon, island-harvested honey, and delicate sweets like the passionfruit Tropical Bombe. Each pot is poured from a curated collection of premium loose-leaf teas by The Denman Island Tea Company, a Vancouver Island specialty roaster founded by Certified Tea Sommelier Brendan Waye.
With panoramic views of the Salish Sea and an unhurried pace, it’s a tradition shaped entirely by place. A children’s tea menu is available too, making it a lovely outing for all ages.

Hosting Canada’s Great Kitchen Party: Victoria’s Road to the Canadian Culinary Championship
We’re honoured to welcome Canada’s Great Kitchen Party — Victoria’s All-Star Invitational — to Oak Bay Beach Hotel on Tuesday, September 29, marking the event’s 20th anniversary year.
Guests will sample signature dishes from Victoria’s top chefs, paired with curated Canadian wines, beers, and spirits, all in support of youth music, sport, and health programs across the country. This year’s Chef of Distinction is Milton Rebello of Liv, who will join the winner of the evening’s All-Star competition in representing Victoria at the national finals in Ottawa. Olympic champion and local Victorian Adam Kreek hosts the evening, with a special musical performance from Tom Cochrane.
