Celebrate BC Wine This Summer

A series of culinary events celebrating British Columbia wine, the Oak Bay Beach Hotel invites guests to celebrate with them as they host their eighth annual Winemaker’s Dinner Series this summer

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is delighted to announce the return of their highly anticipated Winemaker’s Dinner Series, now in its eighth year. The series will launch on June 12, 2024, with Mission Hill Winery, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey.

June 12 | Mission Hill Family Estate
July 3 | Averill Creek Vineyard
July 31 | Hillside Winery
Aug 21 | 1 Mill Road
Sept 4 | Kettle Valley Winery

Each dinner will showcase the best of every featured winery, paired with a seasonally inspired menu created by the Oak Bay Beach Hotel’s culinary team. Upon arrival, guests will receive a welcome glass of sparkling wine and escorted to their seats. The dinner will be accompanied by live piano music in the ocean view Grand Lobby. Throughout the evening, the hotel’s Executive Chef Kreg Graham will present a five-course tasting menu, highlighting the freshest ingredients sourced from the surrounding region. Each course will be expertly paired with wines from the featured winery. The guest winemakers, representatives, and/or winery owners will guide guests through each pour, while sharing insights and tasting notes for guests to take home.

A focus on the exceptional wineries of the Okanagan region will theme this year’s series, as the hotel recognizes the resilience and dedication of these wineries, particularly considering the challenges they have faced in recent seasons. Navigating through a variety of unpredictable environmental factors, Okanagan wineries have persevered through adversity to continue crafting outstanding wines.

By featuring esteemed establishments like Mission Hill Family Estate, Averill Creek Vineyard, Hillside Winery, 1 Mill Road, and Kettle Valley Winery, the Oak Bay Beach Hotel aims to highlight their impeccable offerings throughout each wine dinner. Through initiatives such as this, the hotel continues to contribute to the sustainability and growth of the British Columbia wine industry, ensuring its vitality for generations to come.

“We are proud to utilize our Winemaker’s Dinners to shine a light on the unparalleled craftsmanship of Okanagan wineries at this year’s Winemaker’s Dinner Series,” says Christian Sealey, Director of Food and Beverage. “It’s a testament to our dedication to supporting local producers and offering our guests a truly unique culinary experience.”
